FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Helping you brew with confidence, one cup at a time.
1. Why don’t you have a store I can visit?
We get this question a lot! Crested Coffee is a home-based, cottage food roastery, which means we don’t operate a storefront. All of our coffee is sold online only. This allows us to focus on freshness, quality, and shipping coffee straight to your door — no middlemen, no shelf-sitting.
2. What kind of coffee do you offer?
We specialize in single-origin coffees, each from a specific region or farm, so you can experience the unique characteristics of places like Ethiopia, Colombia, and Indonesia. We also craft blends — like our Summit Espresso — designed for daily drinkers who want balance, sweetness, and depth.
3. Is all of your coffee roasted to order?
Not exactly. Some coffees are roasted close to the time of shipping, but not always on demand. That’s because freshly roasted coffee needs time to rest — usually 1 to 3 days — before it tastes its best. We time our batches carefully so that by the time your coffee arrives, it’s at or near peak flavor. It’s all about shipping at the right moment — not the earliest.
4. Can I choose whole bean or ground coffee?
Absolutely. At checkout, you can choose whole bean or select a grind size (drip, French press, espresso, etc.). For best results, we recommend whole bean and grinding right before you brew — but we’re happy to grind it for you if needed.
5. How should I store the coffee?
Store your coffee in an airtight container, away from heat, moisture, and sunlight — a pantry or cupboard is ideal. Avoid the fridge or freezer. For optimal flavor, use it within 1–3 weeks of opening, especially if pre-ground.
6. What if something’s wrong with my order?
If your coffee arrives damaged or you’re not satisfied, please reach out within 7 days. While we can’t accept returns on coffee (it’s perishable), we’ll do what we can to make it right. Email us at crestedcoffee@gmail.com
7. Why can't I purchase coffee beans?
We’re a Colorado Cottage Food business, so we’re only allowed to sell our coffee beans within Colorado. However, we can ship accessories like mugs and filters to any state.
We’d love to hear from you.
